Saturday deliveries of online purchases already available to 2.3 million people in Finland
We have extended the postal parcel Saturday deliveries to three new cities: Jyväskylä, Lahti and Pori.
Postal parcels that arrive for delivery on Friday will be delivered to consumers to parcel lockers or Posti outlets immediately on Saturday. This allows online retailers to improve their delivery speed and customer satisfaction rates.
Many consumers run their errands on Saturdays, which means it is handy to pick up online store purchases at a parcel locker or a Posti outlet on the same trip.
More than half of all parcels delivered to a Posti outlet are picked up already during the same weekend. Picking up parcels at a parcel locker is even more popular – 68 % of all online store orders delivered to parcel lockers are picked up during the same weekend.
This is enabled by the parcel lockers’ excellent location in shops and shopping centers with long opening hours, as well as the new lockers installed in apartment buildings.
Saturday deliveries for postal parcels are available in 12 cities: Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu, Pori, Seinäjoki, Tampere ja Turku.
All in all, as of June, Saturday deliveries are available for as many as 2.3 million Finns, i.e. 40 % of the entire population. And for the Christmas season, Posti will begin Sunday deliveries starting from Black Friday to 16th of December.
In addition, in September 2018, Posti will begin same-day e-commerce deliveries six days a week in the capital region.
