Add the recipient’s electronic contact details on parcel

As of February 1, 2018, printed notices of arrival of a postal parcel will be subject to a charge. The recipient’s contact details (name, address, mobile phone number and e-mail address) should be requested to be as complete as possible and delivered to Posti in the electronic advance information, i.e. the EDI message. We recommend using the free-of-charge e-NOA (electronic notice of arrival) additional service in connection with postal parcels. This way, the recipient will receive the notice of arrival quickly as an SMS or e-mail and it will incur no costs for your company.

The recipient’s contact details being delivered in the EDI message benefit both you and the recipient

  1. When the EDI message includes the recipient’s mobile phone number or e-mail address, the recipient will receive a quick electronic notice of arrival and can immediately pick up the parcel.

  2. A mobile phone number enables an automatic tracking service for the recipient through Posti’s mobile application and directing of the parcel to the pickup point chosen by the recipient. The mobile phone number is also a precondition for delivering parcels to the popular Posti parcel lockers.

  3. When you use the electronic notice of arrival and if the EDI message includes only the recipient’s name and address (and the recipient has not made a separate pickup point selection, for instance, on an online store), the recipient will receive the notice of arrival by mail. The letter stands out from other day mail.

Note!

By delivering the recipient’s mobile phone number and/or e-mail address in the EDI message to Posti, you will avoid being charged for the printed notice of arrival of a postal parcel which, as of February 1, 2018, is EUR 1.50 per notice.
