As of April 16, Posti offers companies an opportunity to have items delivered to Parcel Lockers in a wide range of locations in Finland. Express parcels delivered to Parcel Lockers will generally be available for pickup by 4 p.m. or, as an additional service, already by 9 a.m. according to the delivery time matrix.
“Posti is able to serve its business customers better than before as Express parcels are now delivered into Posti Parcel Lockers,” says Matti Pohjanheimo, Business Manager in Parcel & eCommerce at Posti.
“There has been a lot of demand for a service like this. We are happy to announce that the customers’ request has now been answered.”
Parcel Locker deliveries of Express parcels are especially suitable for companies that have an urgent need for installation tools or spare parts, for example, as well as small businesses and entrepreneurs with little time to spare. You do not need to spend time waiting to receive an item, as you can pick up the parcel from desired location at a time that is the most suitable for you.
Posti Parcel Locker network is now expanding based on corporate needs
Globally, B2B e-commerce is already bigger than B2C e-commerce. Traditionally, consumers have enjoyed more encompassing shipment and pickup options than companies. Now, companies will have access to the same services. Posti wants to be strongly involved in this trend.
“Parcel Locker deliveries of Express parcels are our newest step towards bringing companies more flexibility and methods of receiving parcels than before”, Pohjanheimo says.
Among other things, Posti is researching opportunities to deliver business parcels even earlier than 9 a.m. In addition, Posti is planning to expand its Parcel Locker network of 1,200 Parcel Lockers to serve companies better than before.
“Business parcels move partially in different areas compared to consumer parcels. We have researched business parcel routes and started to expand the Parcel Locker network along these routes. Our Parcel Locker network is expanding quickly, and we want it to support consumers and companies in an optimal way,” Pohjanheimo explains.
